Do not use a universal remote on a traffic light. it dose not work. and infrared will go though glass um i think

If, as one contributor here contends, infrared light does not pass through glass, then, what, pray-tell, are infrared devices' lenses made of? Granite?

if this did work I could imagine how many pedestrians would get hit by people or accidents caused by this, also if you can't wait 30 seconds for a light to change, you must be one unbearable SOB who probably has no friends that would be that eager to see you.

when you do this, make sure a cop is beside you so he can pull you over, it makes for great conversation with your local officer. Then you'll meet some nice people in Jail and when they hear you're in jail for changing traffic lights with tv remotes, you can bet you'll be doing lots of bendover activities

I live in rural Illinois. There WERE some lights on highways that would respond to light. If you were a far enough distance away ya could flash your highbeams and they would change or stay green.Larrsszz

Ummm... yes it does. Try putting your hand in a sunbeam. That heat you're feeling? That's infrared.
