You could do it with a car battery and bypass the 120vac to 12v stepdown transformer and full bridge rectifier. But as you see it is a little work! Just buy a portable TV!!!!

that would take about 144 AAA battery's and the battery's will have to be in sets of 12 and each set would have to be in series and the 12 sets would have to be in parallel to each other then you would have to have a dc to ac converter and a step up circuit. that would drain the battery's

stupid. the TV is powered with AC power at least 90 volts and the batt only provides 1,5V DC.
