Kauai sits among the gorgeous blue waters of the Pacific Ocean, is only a short twenty minutes by air from Honolulu. Formed about six million years ago, give or take a few, the island is roughly 550 square miles and is the oldest and surfer going Inn at Hanalei, Kauai. To visit Kauai is to quickly lose yourself in the quiet majesty of the island’s lush tropical setting and extraordinary natural heritage. Come, discover the legendary aloha spirit that abounds in this friendly garden island paradise.
I’ve been dreaming of these beaches, and while I was looking at some surfing videos from the area I came across this gem. Videographer Philip Bloom took some time to capture the beautiful sunsets that you’d expect to see at a place like this. Take a few minutes to just sit there and soak in the music, the sights and sounds of some of the most magical beaches on the planet. Sometimes the need to dress up as old Saint Nick is a must, so where the heck do people get a Santa Suit? I just dare you to find a Santa costume in the stores, even at Halloween! For my nephew’s 4th Christmas last year I had just that problem which led me on a goose chase around the town looking for one. Needless to say I gave up quickly.
I took the quest online and found a bunch of shops with Santa costumes in stock, and even a plus-size version which I needed(especially after all those Turkey dinners). For about $150 USD you can get the entire costume which includes the wig, hair and even the little white gloves to complete the look. The picture above is the most deluxe Santa suit I could find on the web and you’ll need the wig and other accessories package that’s linked in the product description.

There are many traditions around Christmas time. Sure, everybody gets together and spends dozens of hours enjoying the company of their family, but that is plain old wholesome fun. I try to extend Christmas beyond just my family and create some traditions with my extended family; my friends.
Each and every year, we get together for one night of all out belligerent fun. Everybody brings a bottle of something delicious and alcoholic and we all wind up taking taxis home because nobody is in any state to drive a car.
Doesn’t sound any different than your normal Friday night? Well boys and girls, that means you need to get a little more into the Christmas spirit. If you are very self conscious of what you put on your body when you go in public, you can start off with a simple Santa hat or Reindeer ears. For those of us who really like to soak in all that Christmas has to offer, its time to get creative. Nothing shows off your Christmas spirit better than a picture of you and your buddies dressed up in tacky Christmas sweaters in front of your brand new Artificial Christmas Tree. Toss a funky Santa hat in the mix and you are set for memorable pictures for years tog come.
In order to pull off a successful ugly Christmas sweater party you are going to need to give your friends at least a few weeks notice. Most people won’t already have a base sweater and will need to hit up Value Village to get the ball rolling.
When you setup your invitations, make sure you encourage your friends to further decorate their sweater. Christmas ornaments, Christmas lights and other festive items are more than encouraged to be worn. One way to ensure people put the time into their sweater is to offer a prize for the best costume. A bottle of Wine usually does the trick in terms of prize offerings.
That is about it! Get ready to have the most memorable Christmas party ever!
If you don’t believe me that people all over North America are participating in Ugly Sweater parties, take a look at these hilarious Christmas sweater shots! Maybe they will inspire you for your next friendly gathering.

As you can tell this little guy is really loving his new sheepskin rug and I can tell you there are many good reasons why he(and you) should. There has been a hot baby trend emerging lately with sheepskin not only because they’re comfortable, but because they pose some great health benefits as well.
When shopping for a genuine baby sheepskin product you can be happy in knowing that baby sheepskin rugs are hypoallergenic and treated chemically free. This is the main reason so many parent’s are choosing sheepskin these days. Your baby won’t have to sit on a rug or blanket that is collecting large amounts of dusts and other microbactieria. Your baby will enjoy the comfort and warmth that comes with the rug making for one happy little baby.
I got in touch with Sheepskin Furs which is one of the largest online sheepskin shops after seeing their Youtube commercial. They let me use their pictures seen below and gave me some tips on other uses for the baby sheepskin rugs.
- Great to use in your baby stroller on walks
- Use the rug in your baby car seat for extra protection and comfort
- Lace the play pen with a rug for extra comfort
- The babies crib always could use some extra comfort

It’s a little early perhaps for Christmas talk but it is coming around the corner and I wanted to talk about something amusing. We always see the beautiful Christmas Trees out in the public square, in your homes and in people’s yards. But what about the lazy bachelor’s, the Christmas haters and everyone who just plain sucks at decorating?
I took the time to hunt down the worst Christmas Trees I could find, and frankly I’m appauled at the picturs I found. I hope these pictures inspire you to create something picture worthy this season, and hopefully you won’t end up on next years list.

Drinking and driving is an absolutely massive problem yet hundreds of thousands of people still turn a blind eye to the issue and hop behind the wheel after having a few alcoholic drinks.
In 2006 alone, 16,005 people were killed in the United States in alcohol related motor vehicle accidents. If you break that down, that is one death every 32 seconds. Can you believe that nearly two people are having either their own life or a life of a loved one end every minute?
These numbers are absolutely devastating. I’m not sure what motivates people to get behind the wheel after having alcohol. It doesn’t matter if you have the most premium insurance on the planet; it is just as good as your run of the mill cheap auto insurance quotes. Insurance is not able to bring ANYBODY back from the dead, and if for some reason you happen to survive, they definitely will not be footing the bill for your reckless behavior. Be prepared to fork over hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions if you destroy the life of another drinking and driving.
If you still aren’t moved by these facts, understand that of the 16,005 people who had their lives taken in 2006, 306 of these individuals were 14 years old or younger; kids who were going about their days relying on others, who had no control what so ever over the situation.
If that doesn’t pull on your heart strings, take a look at the following thirteen reasons why you should NEVER hop behind the wheel intoxicated.
Still think people are overreacting about drunk driving?

I recently decided to replace my wooden structures on my farm and I spent a long time researching the best alternatives. I have a heritage farm in Ontario and you can imagine what my barn and shed looks like these days. I needed to find a solid replacement that would last just as long, but look a little better. It didn’t take me long to realize that steel buildings were the way to go mainly because they’re stronger and will last so much longer.
I didn’t need such a large barn this time around so I wanted something I could store some equipment in, my two horses and wood for the winter. The picture right below is what I went with and it had just the right amount of room to work with. It wasn’t nearly as big so I got some more space out of my property and it isn’t an eye sore.

Steel was a good choice especially for my horses because they tend to kick a lot. Wood will give them splinters or a sprain, and brick or concrete is just simply going to hurt. Steel has some give and flex, plus they cannot chew through it…unless your horse has super powers or something.

A beautiful look at nature during the fleeting moments before the sun sets and the dark skies take over. This is a very unique video and I found it while browsing Vimeo just as the sun was going down here in Vancouver….spooky eh!?

I just got back from a nice trip around Switzerland, Germany and Austria and I took it by train. I managed to take over 700 shots during my 1 month trip but I have yet to go back through them all. I wanted to showcase a few shots that just blew my mind while just sitting on the train. I can’t wait to go back and discover more of the Netherlands and Scandinavian regions. For this trip all I took was my backpack, my camera and had to buy a eurail pass before I left home.
